De halfondergrondse woning gaat op in het landschap van het Goois Natuurreservaat. De grote glaspui aan de zuidzijde laat de warmte binnen die in het beton wordt opgeslagen. In de zomer koelt de aarde de woning natuurlijk. Een houten luifel reguleert de zoninval en vormt de enige zichtbare architectuur aan de buitenzijde. De open draagstructuur is met een licht inbouwpakket aan kamers ingevuld. Het huis is flexibel en kan zo meegroeien met de bewoners.

The underground house is embedded in the moorland. De large glass facade allows the sun to warm the concrete shell. The thermal mass keeps this warmth and cools the house in the summer. The wooden cantilever regulates sun and is the only visible architecture in the landscape. The open structure of the house is filled in with a light set of rooms, giving it a flexibility to grow together with its owners.
